    Yes, the movie is original and unusual but that doesn't negate it's problems with pacing and storytelling. We as an audience can want unique films but still want them to be coherent. And frankly, for all the talk of the A Cure for Wellness being so original, the ending throws out a good handful of some of the most contrived horror tropes anyway.

The movie's bizarre scenario offers no end of striking, mesmerizing images for Verbinski to capture -- as well as a cavernous, clinical, gothic set design, and a creepy, powerful sound design.
